This is it once the garage was removed and also the neighbours lean-to shed which they very kindly let us dismantle.
Its now located in our back garden in its component sections:
And at the other end of the garden is my shed which they builders are using to store stuff and the majority of the brickwork from the shed which they are going to use underneath the concrete floor of the extension.
This is about a week later once they had dug out the foundation ditches and then got them ready for the concrete going in.
Next came the new water main:
Then the foundations were laid. this had to be done by wheelbarrow as they couldn't get access from the truck and then spread about by one of the builders who had to stand in the trenches. Definitely not a job I would have liked! Not surprisingly it was a short day for them as they were all knackered afterwards!
Now onto this week and the walls are starting to go up:
They then filled in the cavity to ground level with concrete and back-filled the sides. things are definitely starting to take shape now. there is a minor issue with the drains though, the original path they intended to take is directly in line with the foundations of the wall that separates the kitchen and the garage. Thankfully there is the second rain water pipe further back so they are going to tap into the drains at that point instead. Architect is happy with that and I guess it doesn't exactly make much difference to us.
